For me it has changed the way that I am asking questions. For example if I had a question about Whitney Houston (R.I.P) I would usually ask a teacher, but now that we have our Macbooks I have become more independent and I am finding out questions without my teachers help.
Sometimes it is cool, but we really don't use our laptops that much in alot of our classes so it is kind of lame. When we do use our laptops though we can find alot more information than we sometimes can on a book.
It hasn't changed the way we learn a lot. We used computers before, we just had to walk down to the lab. We don't really use them that much. It is nice to have our google domain for communication reasons, though. Teachers are on it almost all the time.
It is easier for kids to get in to there home work cus if it is on the computer so they can almost do there home work anytime if they home internet. In a way kids are more into there home work now because it is on the laptop, if kids have something to ask a teacher teacher all they have to do is email the teacher on the google domain.
I think that it makes things a lot easier. We are able to use more recourses to get information then just books, which tends to get boring very fast. It also makes it easier to connect with your teachers to if you were at home and had a question on what your homework was because you can simply email them through google. I think that it gives us very few reasons to not have or homework done or to not understand it. It has made a change for all the students and teachers in many ways.
I think it has made things a lot easier. You can check your grades whenever you want, look at your emails that teachers have sent you, do homework assignments online, etc. It's a lot easier to take out or own laptops and sit in class than going into the labs or library with the whole class. I like it a lot better than last year!
It hasn't really changed my learning. We used the computers a little bit last year. But it was a hassle trying to get the lab when you need it. Now that we have our computers, we can stay in the classroom and find information fast. Having our GMails make it very easy to talk to teachers if we have a question. Since most of the teachers have websites, we can see the daily assignments of that day or when we will be having a test.
I think the way the one-to-one laptop is helping.. Is that i can email the teachers if i have any question on the homework. with us having the computers they give extra time do homework if we need time. It was hard to get into the lab if u needed too
The 1-1 Laptops has given me a chance to remember my homework,a better resource for getting my homework done. And given me an easier way to find information for projects and things. We still do work with paper and pen but we may use computers for the information we are writing down. The work is of better quailty and gets us better grades also.
There is so much more information on the internet than from our books. We can check online for our assignments & our grades. The emailing, though, is the best for us. It is good to get updates about things on our gmail.

1-1 laptops made it easier to research without having to book the computer lab for that block, freeing us up to do more computer activities. However, they aren't used as often as they could be, which is likely due to the fact that most teachers aren't used to teaching with them yet.
These comuters are nice because they give us acess to the internet. Instead of waiting for the computer labs to open up we can stay in our classrooms. All the infomation is now at our fingertips, if we're on the internet.
The 1-1 laptops has made is easier to write essays, research, and work on projects at home with your partners through google documents. It also lets us ask teachers questions about assignments. The internet lets the school system open up more to the world. We can see what's going on outside of the US a lot easier, instead of watching the news.
One to one is cool but we dont really need the junk. I personally like dell of microsoft because they have better stuff. Like word and all that stuff. It is still cool to play games and stuff at home but you never know they could could go nuts and block everything else we enjoy. I think everything should be unblocked and i know almost everyone of you will agree with me!
I believe the 1-1 laptops help students look things up, and allow the people that choose to talk to teachers and make it easier to communicate with them to help gain knowledge on missed information, and to help remind people about homework.
It's helping the teachers find out who is trust worthy and who isn't. It helps the students research things for projects and and do home work. It has its down falls because the students apparently need to revise their play lists in itunes of songs that use profanity and cussing and its hard to find a good song that dont contain cussing and or profanity. That us kids like and listen to.
I dont think by getting our laptops has changed how I learn. It just helps in the way that we don't need to use the labs anymore. The one-on-one has made it so much easier for students to research things for classes because last year the lab and library computers would be being used most of the time so in that way it makes learning I think so much better.
I think getting one-on-one has helped me much more in school. It made it easier to research for classes or if i don't know what a word means all I have to do is search it in the search bar, instead of looking in an encyclopedia. Looking in a book takes almost 10 minutes or more, searching in the search bar takes about 2 minutes.
In some ways it's good, but in some ways it's bad. Like, now everything is internet based and we have more access to getting ahold of teachers if we weren't at school one day or if the teacher is gone and they have to e-mail you. It also gives us better and faster access to certain things, like google, if we have to look something up in a jiffy, then it's right at our fingertips. But we hardly ever use our laptops at school or in class. I think they get used more-so at home than in school.

I just don't think that they need to have iBoss be as strict as it is, because say you are doing a research paper on drugs and the effects of them and you type in weed, you can't view that page because of the word "weed." That is the major downfall with the 1-1, so far.

I think it is helping us become more independent and teaching ourselves to use wider variety in our research. I do believe that sometimes it is helpful, but then again we did have computers before.
I don't think One-to-one has changed our learning much. It is nice to have our own computer, It has made things a little easier. I don't think we really need them, we had computer labs. The only thing that is different is if the computer labs were full we weren't allowed to excess the internet right away. Since we have the laptops its easier to excess the internet. Sometimes the internet doesn't work on our laptops. The only difference now is that we don't need to walk down to the computer lab.

What we have used them for has been alot more effective then the teacher standing in front of the class giving a lecture then giving us an assingment out of the book. Learning the programs such as Imovie, Garage Band, and Keynote has giving students the chance to be more independent then have the teacher showing them how to use it.
Having the one to one has not changed my learning very much, but I do like how you can just take out your computer and check your grades and emails. I also like how we have done more projects on the computer than last year.
One to one to me is very helpful, because now i have a computer at home that I can look up what we had for homework that day, if we have questions I can gmail my teachers anything. There is just the thing that at home is like the only time we use them we rarely ever use them why we are in school, and i think we should use them a lot more since thats what we got them for not for them to just sit around until we get home from school. Now we don't have to go to the computer lab when we do a project and we can just plug in our computer to the projector.
It has changed the way that I am having trouble with western civilization. When I do a project I use powerpoint because it is the fastest site I have ever used and when I don't understand something I ask questions by raising my hand and that teacher will help me do what is right of me and I love having my very own laptop because I can look up the information that I need when I do a project.

I think it is also helpful because a lot of kids now like technology so it makes doing assignments on the computers more interesting.
It really depends on the person I think. For instants, if you didn't have a computer to start with when you were at home, than this might get a little getting used to. You might not be as tech savvy and might need a little more time to get used to the things that are being used on the Macbook. But, for the people that are used to all the stuff that they used on the computers that they may have used at home, they will be doing fine. Overall, I believe that this is a step in the right direction. In the future, we will probably need a little knowledge about computers at our jobs.

Its help alot since everyone has a computer and not all the classes need to cram into one computer lab to get one thing done, now since we have the labtops you can take your project home and work on it.

ReplyDeleteYou can do your homework in class and teacher and email you. We can take them home and charge them so they will be charge for next day.
