Even though we are our own country, it still matters what happens in other parts of the world. For instance, when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, it effected our prices of gas and drywall, even though we live in Iowa.
I think it is important that we follow news from Europe because there is many news in Europe that we use today. News from Europe never dies down. Its always important to remember the what goes on around the European area.
It is important because what happens in Europe or any other wealthy country affects the USA in multiple ways. So if the value of the European dollor goes down our stock market will go down. If natural distaster happens in Europe the stock market will drop. Events that happen around the world affect people of the US in some sort of way.
It is important because Europe helps the U.S in many ways. If something bad happens there we should know, so maybe we could help them out. Even though its not our country we should still know whats going on around there.
It's a good thing to know because if something that comes from over there that we rely on has a problem, that means that it will affect the U.S. If it's going to affect the U.S we need to know about it so that we can prepare for the devastation that it may or may not cause.
The things that happens in other countries affects us more than we think. When there is weather that hits and there is a need for people to be sent over to help the less fortunate, than we are sent over to that country. I also think that sometimes, our country also needs to look at what things are happening here, and look out for the people that are living in the streets and going hungry IN our very town.

We also depend on them for goods we cannot produce-- bringing us back to the trade aspect of it. All countries depend on others. It is just the way the world is.
