I think that it's good that the government is making big budget cuts to avoid a shutdown,they're only cutting $38 billion out of the $3.8 trillion the government will spend on everything this year. President Obama compared it to family with an income of $60,000 a year, the cut is equal to cutting only $600 from that family's income. He also said that most people won't even notice a cut.
Its a good deal that the government is making giant budget cuts. they don't need to be spending billions of dollars on things that we don't need. its a waste of time and its a big waste of money. if we can get the debt way down we be in the golden age and the stock market will hopefully go up.
It is a good thing that the government is starting to react to the news that we are in debt. It is quite a bit late, but better late than never. Think what kind of example that is setting for the people in this country: Spend money until you can't borrow any more, and then worry about how to pay it off? The government needs to cut a lot of things, and try to get this country out of debt.

I think they are taking too much away from early education. People say kids learn the best when they are young yet they take billions away from preschool and give it to the rich people instead. They need to balance it better by stop taking money from the poor or middle class and giving it away to the rich.

Well I don't think that its a good idea whats happening. Democrats and Republicans are fighting over raising and lowering taxes. If taxes get raised more people will go into debt faster; if they are lowered more people will be able to afford things as well pay for their taxes, which may help us to be able to get our country out of debt. Also another thing that will help out country is that the government needs to stop spending money on things that aren't important. It is just flushing money that we need down the drain.

I think it is a good idea. The United States is having hard times but we still have to worry about are growing debt. This might not solve are problems in the near future but they will eventually effect it.

I believe it is a good thing that they make budget cuts on some areas, but they won't pay the military personal until it gets back up and I believe that they should get payed because they are protecting us so we can be 'free' and I do not believe they should work for free. There are other places that could be cut more.

I agree there needs to be budget cuts somewhere. I don't like where they are taking it from though. The salary of the US President is $400,000. The salary of retired US Presidents is $180,000. The salary of House/Senate is $174,000 The salary of Speaker of House is $223,500. The salary of Majority/Minority Leaders is $193,400. Not to mention all the rich movie stars and all of those people. While the Average US Salary is only $33,000 to $77,000. I think they should rethink who and where they are taking it from. Maybe if they would give up a couple thousand or months of their own salary we wouldn't have to worry as much. Just a thought.

I like that the budget is saving our country's government, but other than that, I am not sure how that budget is going to affect us. From around $4 trillion to cut that small amount, it seems insignificant, but if it helps us, I love it.
I think that if it helps us i'm all for it, but I don't see how were going to get out of this HUGE deficit that were in right now. I hope that these cuts can have an impact on our deficit and hope that our generation isn't paying for it later...

Although both Democrats and Republicans plan to reduce the Federal budget, the fact is that neither plans will have a noticeable effect on the national budget. Congress has proposed spending cuts measuring into the billions, but the deficit numbers in the trillions. While the current efforts of both parties is admirable, it is not sufficient to truly solve the problem, especially when there is discussion about raising the debt limit.
The budget plan is okay but it seems as if it was just thrown together at the last minute. It is great that they are trying to cut back and help reduce the cost of our nation's debt. Although, I think that they need to stop worrying so much about themselves. That is all we see that is happening. No one wants to reduce their income so they are making it harder on the middle class. This is just selfish and ridiculous.
